What did you make of today's Herbology lesson?
Some of those plants sounded right fiddly to keep alive.
It's funny; I've always felt a bit guilty that I'm not more into Herbology, since Professor Sprout's my Head of House and all.
I've always been more of a Creatures girl, I guess.

Date: 2012-01-04 03:53 am (UTC)I must say that I preferred the way that Professor Brutka taught Care of Magical Creatures to the way Professor Grubbly-Plank does it...but I can hardly complain, since I REALLY prefer the way he teaches Transfiguration to the way Professor Carrow taught it. I'm so glad he's gone. Professor Carrow, I mean. I don't think I ever met anyone as him so badly suited to teaching. Or anything else to do with people, really.
One thing I learned about the Puffapods we were working with last week: they like really acid soil. I think the stuff she was handing last week didn't have quite the right pH.

Date: 2012-01-04 03:04 pm (UTC)Yeah, the less said about Professor Carrow the better! I've gotten loads better at Transfig this year.
As far as Professor Grubbly-Plank, I think she just comes off a bit uptight because she's really knowledgeable but not used to having loads of students around at once.
But then, she's...not my real great-aunt, exactly, but I think of her that way, so I know what she's like really.
Anyhow, I was going to ask if maybe you wouldn't mind giving me some pointers sometime?
We could go down to the greenhouses and work on our practical revising a bit.
