Hah! Yes, she is a bit overwhelming sometimes. And you'd hardly know it was our idea to begin with, right? But now we've got her on our side, it'll go much more smoothly even if she does get to pretend like she's in charge.
And if we have a corner of the room for make overs, and the main part for just eating snacks and dancing, not everyone will have to do it, so it won't be too terribly bad.
She really does run Ravenclaw, at least in her year and lower, so if we'd have any hope of involving her house (and Beaxbatons), we really had to. Unfortunately. But I'll be gritting away too, as will Sally-Anne.
We could come up with a code word for when she's particularly annoying at the party -- like "lovely"
"Everything looks just lovely." "Patil's dress is especially lovely today, as are her manners!" "What a lovely job with the eye make up! I'd never have guessed that orange was her colour."
And you can be perfectly busy hosting, and simply not have enough time. Or! We could put a little make-up on you before, just a little, but then she couldn't suggest a makeover for you because it'd be insulting since you'd already be done up, and it'd be like she was saying it wasn't good enough.
Well. At least normal people would think it was insulting. She may just plow on ahead. But you can say, "Oh, I'm so busy helping, I couldn't possibly, which is why I've already put a little on myself before I came. Isn't it lovely?"

Just promise you won't let her make me over into anything drastic?
